BERGEN! JOIN US FOR POLISH STAND-UP! “Time Machine” In his fourth solo program, Rafa? Rutkowski travels through time. In his signature style he confronts the present with the past. Was life better before? Or are we living in the best times right now? Is artificial intelligence a hope for humanity or the beginning of its end? How much has technology changed us? Are we wiser than our ancestors? Or perhaps human stupidity is doing just fine? Rutkowski also returns to his childhood in communist Poland, recalling the absurdities of that era. He talks about the phenomenon of the Fiat 126p, queues for mustard, ration cards for meat, and parties during martial law. He also shares stories about his first trip “to the West” and long-distance flirting with his Swedish wife. He reveals how he once impressed a girl with aerial acrobatics and how he used contraception in Belarus.
